On 18 February 2026, the first online meeting within the framework of WP4 of the Fostering Socially Distanced and Inclusive On-Campus Education in Armenian HEIs (eCAMPUS) project took place. The work package is coordinated by the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. During the meeting, the coordinators outlined the objectives, expected outcomes, and implementation timeline of WP4.
WP4 comprises four activities aimed at developing a modern and sustainable e-learning platform for Armenian higher education institutions. The first activity focuses on the preparation of a report based on European best practices, which will define the format, general principles, methodology, structure, and key functional requirements of the platform. This document will serve as the foundation for the subsequent stages of development.
During the discussions, participants emphasised that the platform should provide extensive opportunities for both lecturers and students, enabling the effective use of diverse digital tools and supporting the achievement of educational objectives. The European partner universities highlighted the importance of integrating artificial intelligence into the platform’s toolkit, noting its potential to enhance learning processes and expand academic capacities.
Representatives of Armenian universities stressed that the new platform should be more advanced and refined than previously used systems, as its efficiency and functionality directly affect the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment. The participants agreed to submit the report within the project’s established deadline, thereby ensuring timely progress in the implementation of subsequent activities.
