Promoting Socially Distanced and Inclusive Campus Education in Armenian Higher Education Institutions
Within the framework of Public Radio’s “Դպրություն” (“Dprutyun”) programme, an important and topical discussion took place, dedicated to the development of digital education in Armenian higher education institutions, quality assurance, and the localization of European experience.

Mari Santurjyan, Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Center of Yerevan State University (YSU) and Deputy Coordinator of the Erasmus+ eCAMPUS project,
Meri Barseghyan, Specialist at ANQA’s Policy Development Division and Officer responsible for Student Voice.

Mari Santurjyan:
“Within the framework of this project, a framework of digital competencies for teaching, learning, and assessment is being developed for higher education institutions. It has already been drafted and will be approved by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport. This framework will define and regulate the digital competencies and skills required of academic staff.”
“Quality assurance is important not only for full-time education, but also for online education, which presents us with numerous challenges.”
Meri Barseghyan:
“The workshop conveyed one core message: digitalization is inevitable, but the loss of quality is not. We maintain that regardless of the environment in which education is delivered - online, hybrid, digital, or through the use of online digital tools in general - we must ensure the same quality and prepare the same specialist, for whom we have defined the learning outcomes.”
“The purpose of the workshop was not only to adopt European experience and attempt to adapt to it, but also to identify the needs of Armenian higher education institutions and align them with European best practice.”
The Erasmus+ eCAMPUS project is a four-year initiative funded by the European Union and coordinated by Yerevan State University, aimed at addressing common challenges related to the quality of online and digital education.
